Updates:

The week of 3/07/10 - 3/13/10:
Happy White Day everyone!!! (Don't know what it is? Keep reading to find out) This week includes many many many new articles. After going through twenty to fourty articles and chose the best few to put in this week's update. For each article much time and heard went into sumerizing the information and yes, it was tiring, but it's worth it.
Sorry, this week I didn’t have the time or pleasure to watch many movies or tv series. I might be uploading my Chapter One of the book i'm writing in the following week. Right now I can’t predict how busy i will be but I have this feeling that untill spring break, i'll be booked, so I’ll apologize ahead of time in case my entries aren’t as long as I’d like.

SNSD Yoona offered to join IRIS sequel, Athena
It has been reported that there second season of IRIS which will be called Athena: Goddess of War. Already two major male actors, , will be joining this show. But this leaves the lingering question of who the female lead could be. EvFen though it’s not a lead role, one of the members of SNSD will be joining the cast. Apparently Yoona was offered the role. But sadly, she had to turn it down due to being in Family Outing Season Two as a regular. This caused the schedule to be busier than ever and she simply could not accept.
Filming will start in June and for all of us, there’s one question left to be answered – Who will be chosen to join the cast of Athena? We’ve eliminated Yoona out of nine so eight left. Who do you think will grasp the role and most importantly who do you want it to be?

F.cuz releases new mini-album
After releasing many teasers, the boys finally unveil their first mini-album. Before their debut, the boys released dark and interesting photos that made many anticipate their comeback. Much to people’s surprise, the boys go through a drastic change from vibrant bright colors to a dark and tough style. This new look seems much more fitting and has immediately gotten good signs from fans.

Jaejoong’s new Japanese drama confirmed!
Earlier there have been rumors that Jaejoong from DBSK/TVXQ/Tohoshinki will be starring in a Japanese tv series named “Sunao ni Narenakute / 素直になれなくて (Because I can’t be Honest)”. Luckily for us, this rumor is true. Hero Jaejoong will debut for the first time in a Japanese drama.” Suano ni Narenakut”e was written by the same Japanese screenwriter, Kitagawa Eriko, that wrote one of his past works, Heavens Postman. I was extremely excited to hear this news. Be sure to join me in supporting our dear Jaejoong by watching “Because I can’t be Honest”!

SNSD’s new dark concept
In the music video “Oh!” there was a tiny teaser at the end revealing a preview of a “Black Soshi” which goes against their giddy, cutie pie/cheerleader look.
After all this anticipation of SNSD’s new Black Soshi look, we finally get a sneak peak. Beginning from March 11th, photos of each SNSD member will be released with this “Black Soshi” look until the 15th, Yuri being the first. Apparently The Black Soshi concept will be for a new song that’s not included in their Oh! album. Fans are glad to see that Yuri has made a full recovery from swine flu and can return to her activities which include resuming her role as MC of Music Core. Currently all of the members of SNSD are taking a week long break from performing in order to get ready for their new track, so sadly, they will not be special guests on any music shows.

8Eight New Single, and mystery boy~
On March 8th, a group called 8Eight released a new digital single called Term of Validity / Availability Period (유효기간). There has been a lot of controversy over the machine usage. On many message boards were filled with comments such as “Do skilled artists like them have to use autotune? It’s pitiful that even 8Eight has to pretend to be like idols. Win by your vocal skills,” obviously showing their distaste towards the machine usages. Other fans fight back by saying “Do skilled artists only have to sing ballads? What does vocal power and machine use matter? Can only idols use machines?” Personally, I like this song. I support 8Eight and give them props for trying out a new type of music. This new digital single is very different and I believe it’s because of this difference and also the fact that they wanted to try something new that lead to all this critique. I find myself siding with the fans who were sticking up for this talented group. Hopefully these anti-fans will come around. Anyhow, what do you think of this song?
On a brighter note, at lot of fans including myself, we’re all dying to know who the identity of the boy behind the silhouette in the ending of Term of Validity. Since 8Eight is known for having idols featured in their MV such as Wonder Girls‘ Sohee in Without A Heart and 2AM’s Jinwoon in Goodbye My Love, the fans and I are wondering if this case is any different. 8Eight and 2AM are both under the agency of Big Hit Entertainment, 2AM’s Jo Kwon and Seulong are chosen as the possible candidates of the mystery boy. Addressing these rumors, Big Hit Entertainment stated, “The character shown at the end of Term of Validity will also be featured in 8Eight’s upcoming title track MV. We can’t reveal who it is yet, but we can guarantee you that it will be someone as great as Wonder Girls’ Sohee.”

I think he resembles both Jo Kwon and Seulong but I’m leaning towards Seulong. But truly, I wouldn’t be surprised if they ended up tricking us and having it end up being someone completely different. Who knows? Guess we’ll have to find out for ourselves. Who do you think it is? Their mini album The Bridge will be released on March 30th!

The reason for lack of idol couples
The biggest reason ultimately lies with the idols’ management agencies. They could be as strict to take away their phones during promotions or just grouping them together in a dorm/room. If scandals between idol members get spread around, it might lead to tragic occurrences among their fans and cause problems to the members themselves. Since many of the idol’s fans are young girls especially for male idols, they are faced with two decisions. To either be single or to date secretly and this is all really standard. KARA’s manager explained, “Even though many idol singers get paired up as a couple during variety shows, it’s hard to go beyond that and go into a real relationship. Even if they do date, it will end pretty quickly because they are unable to face the eventual consequences or their companies stepping in to break them up.”

My Thoughts:
I do believe all this to true. I may not know, but I can understand and put myself in their shoes, one of the abilities that is a necessary part in achieve my dream. I’m so good at becoming “the character” that I can literally feel all their emotions and what is running through their head through reading articles, magazines, looking at them, etc. Many idols believe that if they do date someone, then their fans will abandon them since they are no longer single. And truthfully, even though I’m not like that, many fans are. So the idols are faced with the decision of either pleasing themselves by dating someone they might possibly love, or pleasing their fans and keeping popular. I believe that is why so many idols date secretly. I don’t understand if this is just an Asian/Korean thing, no to be racist. Because in the United States, even if a man is taken, or even married, they will not lose their fans, in fact it may make them even more popular. I will look further into this. But reading this article made my heart ache a little. If you know me very well, you should already know why, but for all the others. I’ll explain. There is someone that I am a big fan of; I believe that I love him. He just happens to be an idol. Yes, I’m like every other girl, I want to be with the man that I love. Before reading this article, I knew it would be hard for him to get a girlfriend, and after, it just confirmed my thoughts. Also, another factor comes into play, my dream. It’s even harder for idols to date idols. I do love him with all my heart, but will I give up my dream for him. That answer is still unknown. But I will find out in the future. I guess the harder things are, the more I want to fight for them. I will not give up because I want to live a life of no regrets. I hope you guys feel the same and can apply this into your lives, so even if it’s a long shot, go for it. As corny as it sounds, it’s true. “Shoot for the mood because even if you miss, you’ll be among the stars”. So don’t give up, never give up~

My Thoughts:
Wow, there’s nothing much I can say. But I do believe that Michael Jackson will always be in my heart as the King of Pop, forever and ever. I’m sad that he had to leave the world like this with all these misconceptions of him. I believe he is one of the strongest men to have been on this planet. All the things he had to go through, all the people against him, he had to fight them all. Sure, he’s made mistakes before, but we’re all human. I’m glad, that people like his bodyguards are finally coming out and actually saying good things about MJ. Truthfully, I wasn’t his biggest fan due to other people perspective on him, and that influenced me, all the rumors and crazy remarks. All this made up from the media who make a living from creating all this useless drama and in my opinion ruining not only people like Michael Jackson’s reputation, but also their lives. I hope that finally people will start to look at him in a different light, for who he truly was. I regret immensely never giving a chance. After his death, I finally know that I was wrong the whole time. I wish he was still here so I could apologize. I really do.

I really hope Yunho does MJ proud in an upcoming concert. He currently is rehearsing in California, but will return to Korea for this concert dedicated to the wonderful man Michael Jackson who changed the world. Let him rest in peace in all of our hearts.

Idol waist measurments:
Recently, celebrities have been getting skinner and skinner. Just look at the measurements below.
On March 9th episode of KBS 2TV’s Win Win, the lovely SNSD’s Taeyoong’s waist measurements were revealed. And yes, she is as skinny as she looks, a tiny 24inches.
You thought Taeyoong’s waist was small, you haven’t seen anything yet. Kara’s Goo
Hara’s 20 inch waist is sooo small at times I wonder if someone hugs her tightly she might break in half. But recently Korean netizens have been targeting these stars about their waists. In Kara’s MV Lupin, many fans commented about her “fat”. My response was, how can a girl with a 20 inch waist have a lot of tummy fat? Goo Hara handled these ridiculous comments gracefully by saying “Since I was sitting in a certain way, I think my fat came up. Because of this, more people watched the music video. It makes me happy to think that I contributed to the popularity of Lupin. I’m thankful for the attention from my fans and netizens.”
Another case is for T-ara’s Eunjung, who while promiting their new hit single “I Go Crazy Because of You” was targeted for her “belly fat” Netizens then affectionately called it “cute belly fat” uploading the picture on various websites. The picture with Eunjung’s “belly fat” is barely noticeable unless you look at it closely.

With Eunjung’s commanding presence on stage, I wouldn’t have paid attention to her stomach, even if she had eaten the whole McDonalds menu, three times over and over again.

My Thoughts:
I do love all Netizens, I partly am one, but we all need to take a moment to stop and realize that these idols are real human beings. They’re not Barbie dolls, and they’re not perfect. No one and nothing is. I think that a lot of netizens believe idols should all be skinny, should all look a certain way, and all dress a certain way. But not everyone’s the same. Just like us, the idols all have different body shapes, different styles, different looks, etc. We cannot compare one to another. So, give them a break, under all that stress, and they still look the way they are? Wow, I believe that’s already extraordinary.
I have a lot to say about this topic. Expect an entry about it soon.

Baek Ji Young and Mighty Mouth’s music video released!
The full video of Baek Ji Young and hip hop duo Mighty Mouth has finally been released. The video consists of stars such as actor Lee Yong Woo from the drama Style, and actress Gook Ji Yun from Boys Over Flowers. What’s unique and interesting about this collaboration is that the actual music video actors worked together with the singers to come up the music video’s concept and how the whole story would play out.
The music video is one to be remembered. It introduces a new concept that I find absolutely riveting. Personally to me the most noteworthy part without a doubt is the use of vivid colors to separate this music videos from others. Watch below to see for yourself!

On the set of T-ara’s photoshoot for Vogue Girl
T-ara’s popularity is going through the roof and so are their endorsement deals and photoshoots. This six member girl group is known for their versatility for photoshoots. With light make up and soft pastel colors, they once again showed us another side of them, another flawless look. At this point, I don’t think there’s a look that T-ara can’t pull off. The most wanted idol member for White Day is…
First of all, for all those who don’t already know, Koreans celebrate two “Valentines days”. One is Valentines day in which the girls give a gift to their main squeeze. But on White day, men return the favor and the gift in usually white thus giving it the name “White Day”.
From February 26th to March 10th, votes were cast for the poll “Which idol member do you want to spend your White Day with?” The results are in:

SHINee attends fan signing event
On March 10th, After ending their Year of Us album promotions in Korea, the boys have been busy flying around Asia for promotions. SHINee’s fans got a good chance to get up and personal with who other than SHINee themselves. “link”
The boys will leave for Singapore soon where they are due to attend the 2nd Singapore Entertainment Awards on the 13th and the showcase on the 14th. Then on the 15th, they will return to Korea where work on their new album which is expected to gain momentum. I’m already excited.

As you should already most likely know that this weekend allkpop held open auditions for major companies such as SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment, etc, in Atlanta on the 13th and 14th of March. They were looking for singers, dancers, and CF models. I apologize that I didn’t get to tell you guys this ahead of time. I’m sure after reading the first sentence there’s a question lingering in your mind. Did I go? My answer sadly is no, but not because I didn’t want to. Unfortunately I didn’t meet the expectations. I was so excited when I heard about this, but when I found out that I could not audition for this, I felt like my heart broke as if my dreams and hope suddenly got taken away from me. It was like a slap in the face, and now even talking about it, it’s hard not to cry. I know, I’m such a cry baby. But it’s hard not to be when you put all this hard work into your dream and suddenly you’re given this opportunity just to have it snatched away. I felt like I was so close to getting my first audition, I could smell it, I could taste it, but I couldn’t grab a hold of it. It flew away, and sadly all I can do is watch it fly farther and farther away from me. But I’ll try to optimistic, just keep my head up high with a smile e, and whip away those tears. I guess it just wasn’t meant to be. But my day will come. I know it.

$\' Pictures, Images and Photos$ Alejandro by Lady Gaga: Despite of what everyone says, I am a fan of Lady Gaga. She is original and one of the few American artists who don’t edit their voices a lot. Many people say that Taylor Swift is amazing, but in my opinion, when you hear Taylor Swift in concert, you know that her voice was modified. For Lady Gaga, that’s not true, she sounds just a good in concert, maybe even better. I believe that is very important in an artist, to be better on stage when you’re in the right place at the right time. The first time I heard this song was when this CD first came out. My brother’s girlfriend is a huge fan of Lady Gaga and due to spending so much time with her, I heard a lot of Lady Gaga songs. When this song came on in the car, I was breathless. This song has a different sound to it and that makes it so outstanding. I’m sick of all these average sounding “hit songs”. This whole CD, The Fame Monster, is just outstanding. Songs such as “Telephone” feat Beyonce, and “Bad Romance” are song of the songs that contribute to this five star CD. I recommend you to check out this CD, every song on it. It’s truly one of its own class.

$\' Pictures, Images and Photos$ Hard but Easy by Luna and Krystal: Recently I have been very interested in f(x). I’ve been trying to give them a chance. Because of that, I found this song. I automatically liked it from the first few notes. I especially adore Luna’s parts, but Krystal steals the spotlight with the sweetness with her sweet sound. Together, their voices blend perfectly.

$\' Pictures, Images and Photos$ Try to Copy Me by 2ne1: Ever since this song has come out, it’s gotten high on all the music carts. Now, I know why. Wow, the first time I heard this song; it got stuck in my head to days. And that’s not even the tip of the iceberg; the MV is so “2ne1”. They have their own personal look and I think it’s applied very well in this MV. They are able to put looks together that no one else can pull of and make it work. Sandra nails her part and it’s performed to perfection and I wouldn’t expect anything less. As always, CL is the fashion guru of all time. I personally this she is the “Lady Gaga” of Korea. “” just does her own thing, and her moves just leave me awestruck. But something was bothering me, I don’t know if it’s just me but “’ doesn’t shine a brightly as she always does. Her look is different than usual, but she still looks fierce. I just hope she isn’t losing her person touch. They’ve again proven their ability to be the best, and I have no doubt that in the future, they’ll only get better.

$\' Pictures, Images and Photos$ Lupin by Kara: Kara is a group of five girls, and they’re absolutely gorgeous. What I mean by that is they’re all extremely skinny, have beautiful faces, and each have different looks but make that look fierce. Lupin has a nice beat to it and it is the first song I’ve heard of Kara. The way the MV and song comes together is like a harmony and melody, perfect together. My favorite part of the music video would have to be the part when they switch into their white outfits. Fedoras, black, and white equals classic. I want to steal Goo Hara’s body and the white dress she wears. I look forward to seeing more of Kara in the future.

Movies:
Shutter Island: At first, I believed this was a horror movie, but that is not the case. This movie makes you think over and over again and keeps you guessing until the very end what will happen. De Caprio grasps the concept of the character and once again executes the role to mere perfection keeping you hooked and still thinking about it for hours to come.
Rating: 9/10
Why: This movie got some negative review due to what I think the laziness of Americans theses days. They like to be spoon-fed the story leading you by the hand through everything, but this movie certainly is not that. It makes you think and analyze everything that happened to understand the true ending of the end. This movie kept me up in my sheet wondering who will happen next.
